The targeted, individualized curriculum at Bluebonnet focuses on each individual child’s developmental needs. Our program fosters a love of learning and emphasizes children’s emerging literacy skills, while still giving those beginning readers a strong opportunity to learn and improve. Mathematics and science are pivotal parts of our curriculum. Our teachers focus on education that involves hands-on activities that allow the children to use personal experience to learn concepts.
We meet each child’s developmental needs on an individual basis. Students are given the tools to beginning reading – phonics, sight words, beginning readings. Our math curriculum enables a child to internalize numeracy skills, providing a firm understanding on which to build future math competency.
Developmental progress assessments are based on careful observations of each child focusing on social, emotional, cognitive, language and physical development. We focus on the "whole child." The curriculum is then adapted to each individual, according to his or her developmental level and skills set. Developmental progress is shared with parents with our frequent parent conferences.
Children need to be active and stretch their muscles throughout the day. At Bluebonnet, outdoor activities are interspersed with quieter indoor time enabling children to concentrate better and focus more easily on classroom learning activities. Our children go outside at least twice a day for at least 45 minutes, weather permitting, enjoying free play on our exciting playscapes, playgrounds and sports fields.
Immersion Spanish and Music Classes are taught each week by our own Bluebonnet highly qualified teachers.
